WAAST Prayer Guide – August 8, 2021
STUDENTS IN THE FINAL SEMESTER
Students are arriving by bus, car, motorcycle, and airplane to begin courses on Monday. More than 120 third-year students are expected from seven extension centers, including some who were not able to complete their studies in 2020. The largest group ever is expected on campus—more than 220—and many adjustments are being made to accommodate them, especially considering the pandemic protocols still in place. Buildings not normally used as dorms are now occupied by students. A wall separating two classrooms has been removed to make a larger room, and the student chapel will be used for a classroom. Student chapel meetings will be held in the WAAST International Chapel. But students are grateful to be here! Over the next 13 weeks, they will complete their last five courses and a thesis project, then graduate together on November 13.
Please pray
- for the Lord’s protection over this campus from COVID-19 as students from 14 nations in West and Central Africa come and settle in, and for wisdom as all respect the protocols;
- that students would adapt quickly to and enjoy the multicultural context as they live and study with others;
- for the Holy Spirit’s blessing on and guidance in each course;
- for safe travels, health, and strength for the professors as they come to teach the 3-week block sessions and to help with the thesis projects. This semester 36 professors from 10 nations will be involved.
Look What the Lord Has Done!
Thank God with us that it is possible for students from the extension centers to attend this year.
