WAAST Prayer Guide – December 19, 2021
WORKERS IN COMPASSION MINISTRIES
Beginning in Acts 2, we see Spirit-filled disciples sharing with those in need, healing in Jesus’ name, caring for widows, etc. Showing compassion flows naturally from serving our Lord. Many WAAST students and graduates are involved in compassion ministries, some as their primary ministry, and others as part of their churches’ outreach. Some are directors of or teachers in Assemblies of God church-attached schools. Others help provide wells or clinics to serve the communities. Some provide help and even a home for the handicapped, orphans, street children, drug addicts, and others displaced from society. Some help refugees fleeing terrorism, or victims of floods and natural disasters. As they serve, they share about the God who sent His Son to this needy world to offer them abundant and eternal life.
Please pray
- for strength for these workers who face the ongoing, deep needs of individuals and communities, and for God’s wisdom to deal with each one—with the unwavering focus of drawing people to Jesus;
- for church leaders at the national-, regional-, and local-church levels as they discern needs in their villages and countries and organize to meet them;
- for resources and for partners to help workers minister to people’s physical and spiritual needs;
- that this Christmas season would offer workers opportunities to express God’s love in tangible ways and to tell the Christmas story.
